Born in 1954 in West Bengal,
Shipra did her graduation from Calcutta University and
studied art at the Govt.College of Art & Craft and
at the College of Visual Arts Calcutta, under guidance
of Shuvaprasanna. Starting with her first solo show
in her home town, Shipra has held 12 solo exhibitions
to date some in India and others abroad. She has participated
in numerous group shows and several art workshops. Four
portfolios of her drawings and graphics have already
been brought out and her work is held in important public,
corporate and private collections both in India and
abroad. She lives and works in Kolkata.
