| Ram Kumar was born in
Simla, did his master degree in economics from Delhi
University. Later he left for Paris to study painting
in 1952. In 1970 he received the JD Rockefeller fund
fellowship. Ram Kumar is also well known for his short
stories written in Hindi. He was awarded the Padmashree
in 1972 by the Govt. of India in 1985 the Kalidas Samman
by the Madya Pradesh State Govt. Ram Kumar lives and
works in New Delhi.
