He studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts from 1953 to
1958. In 1960 he founded the Group Unknown which exhibited
that year and in 1964. He taught painting in India until
1962 and later received a grant to journey to Yugoslavia
where he resided from 1964 till 1966. Since 1970, Rajendra
Dhawan has been living and working in Paris, in 1997
he married CharlotteWiernik. They have one daughter.
