                          but it has certain puzzling power to disturb our eyes. 
                          Painted with a consistent, but not always meaningful 
                          crudeness, Altaf`s world is full of human beings in 
                          a state of torture, their expressions often controlled 
                          and bodies hanging or floating, as it were, in Limbo. 
                          At their best these faceless figures have a fresco-like 
                          quality; at their worst they amount only to some inexpert
